Trust

"Oceans (Where Feet May Fail)"

You call me out upon the waters
The great unknown where feet may fail
And there I find You in the mystery
In oceans deep
My faith will stand

And I will call upon Your name
And keep my eyes above the waves
When oceans rise
My soul will rest in Your embrace
For I am Yours and You are mine

Your grace abounds in deepest waters
Your sovereign hand
Will be my guide
Where feet may fail and fear surrounds me
You've never failed and You won't start now

So I will call upon Your name
And keep my eyes above the waves
When oceans rise
My soul will rest in Your embrace
For I am Yours and You are mine

Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders
Let me walk upon the waters
Wherever You would call me
Take me deeper than my feet could ever wander
And my faith will be made stronger
In the presence of my Savior

Oh, Jesus, you're my God!

I will call upon Your name
Keep my eyes above the waves
My soul will rest in Your embrace
I am Yours and You are mine

I've sang these words and cried out so many times over the past months. I've sang them in hopes that through hard times, faith and trust would lead to a celebration of healing and that I would be proclaiming to the world around me that God can, and indeed did, heal. I've sang them with the intent that no matter the outcome, my faith will be made stronger as I am lead to walk on water. And yet, here I am, lost. I don't know what to sing. I don't know what to pray. I don't understand how my faith is possibly being made stronger when I feel so weak.

Psalm 130:5I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits, and in his word I put my hope. 6I wait for the Lord more than watchmen wait for the morning, more than watchmen wait for the morning.

And so, I continue to ask, "Spirit lead me where I would never imagine going. Take me deeper than I think I can go. And make my faith stronger." Trust.

Oh Paige, it hard to read those words and not relate. All I can say that feeling weak is OK. You don't have to prove anything to anyone. God is pleased with your heart. Rest in his embrace as long as you need to. In a little while you will be able to look back and see how your faith has grown just by resting in him and taking to him every single question without shame. Praying for you!
