I can officially say we're moved in. I love the Olympia/Tumwater area. Stephen and I are discovering new restaurants, shops, coffee shops and fun things to do in the area.
We have only tapped into the surface of doing more with family and friends in the area. I am so excited to have a bigger part in my siblings' lives and become better friends with them. I am also excited to spend more time with my brother Chase and his wife-to-be Rebecca. Claire, Laurel and Melina, (Stephen's sisters,) are all going to have to stop by for cards or afternoons in Olympia. Oh, it's so much fun. It's so nice to be close enough to stop by for a visit and not have to drive for hours upon hours.
I took some pictures of the house. In case you didn't already know, it is a duplex. We will live in the upper unit and rent out the lower unit. The upper unit is approximately 2000 square feet plus a 2 car garage. The space we have now compared to the small Lake cabin which was pushing 700 square feet is amazing!
Yes, we're moved in but there is much work to be done. Over the next few months we will be getting rid of that hideous carpet in the kitchen, the gold tub in the bathroom has to go and yes, the stained glass windows in the bedroom, good-bye! Along with many other improvements this house is sure to look different. I didn't take any pictures of the downstairs unit as it is a work-in-progress. We are almost finished with the kitchen. Stephen is in the middle of painting the living room. And carpet should be coming in a couple of weeks.

Ice Cream at the Park
As Stephen went to Bellingham for two last days working for WWU, Pear and I decided we needed to keep ourselves busy without him and what a better way to do it than to go to the park with ice cream!
We pulled up to Baskin Robbins and Pear immediately showed excitement by kicking her little feet. (I believe daddy has been treating her to ice cream more than mommy knows.) We picked out the most fun flavor available: Icing on the Cake, which is vanilla with chunks of cake and sprinkles. We then headed to Tumwater Falls Park which is only about a mile or two from our house and a couple of blocks from Baskin Robbins.
As you can see, Pear enjoyed herself immensely and it was quite fun to watch her.

The sound of a heart beat
Well, I got to hear the newest member of this Backholm family's heart-beat today. The sound of that little heart beating is utterly amazing! Until you are a mother, with a baby in your womb, you'll probably never quite understand this excitement and absolute joy that comes from that little sound.
