Laughing

Very seldom do I have a day that lacks a good laugh as I have a baby that thinks the most minuscule things that I do are hysterical. There's just something about hearing a baby laugh that brightens a day and their joy is contagious. Even if you are as lucky as I am to have a baby in the house to make you smile, this clip is sure to bring you another.

When it rains, it pours....blessings that is.

Well, we are blessed yet again. Let me just count our blessings at this particular moment:

-We are healthy.
-We have a beautiful baby girl.
-God has provided Stephen with a wonderful job.
-We have purchased a home which was exactly what were hoping for only at a more reasonable price.
-We have wonderful families and friends.
-We are expecting baby number two!

Yes, that's right, we are expecting another baby. He or she will arrive in the beginning of November unless he or she wants to surprise us a month early as Pear did. Stephen, Pear and myself are so excited! Pear can't wait to have a playmate or maybe it's me that can't wait for her to have a playmate. Either way, we're excited.

One big happy family!

I just wanted to state for the record that I love big families! As I am the second of nine children, I can honestly say that I love having so many brothers and sisters. I have three brothers and five sisters. When you are part of a large family you don't view it as odd or amazing or crazy, it's simply the way it is. My older sister, Tara, who is currently living in Washington D.C. recently called my mom and during her conversation, my little sister, Libby (two years old,) interrupted my mother and said, "mom, tell Tara that I'm glad she's my sister because I don't have very many." To her, five sisters obviously isn't enough. I feel that is just an illustration of the way you feel when you grow up in a large family. Each child and participant brings so much joy and laughter that you want more. You want another to be able to enjoy this life that you get to live and serve and be blessed in.

Catching up with the times!

Well, I decided it's time to start a blog. Not only will it be beneficial for me to exercise writing and articulating my thoughts, but it will also be a great way for me to log the many milestones and events in our lives.

Since I'm not going to try to back-log the happenings in the Backholm family, I will give you a description of our life in a nutshell:
Stephen and I have been happily married for 3 years and 8 months now. We have lived in Bellingham, WA for the same amount of time and have thoroughly enjoyed it. We were blessed last year with Pear, a beautiful baby girl, who is now over a year old. And we are leaving our fun house on the lake in less than two weeks to move into our newly purchased home in Olympia, WA.

What a sweet life!
