So, this again is mainly for my records so that when I come back to this time with future kids I can look back and say, "oh, it happened with her and we got over it." At least, that's what I'm hoping I'll be able to say.
Pear was potty trained and doing great. Sure, I needed to remind her every once in a while or we'd have an accident but for the most part, she would come and tell me when she had to go potty.
About three weeks ago, we went to the park with our good friends/cousins Brook and Joseph. They have three little girls and the youngest two are about the same ages as Pear and Jovie. Brook and I were talking about our girls and potty training. I was bragging about how well Pear was doing with the matter and wouldn't you know, she had an accident at the park not even thirty minutes after the said discussion! Ever since then, she seems to have completely lost interest in going on the potty. If I tell her "let's go potty first" or "come on, you need to go potty" sure, she'll go on the potty. But that is ONLY if I remind her or make her. If I forget to remind her for more than an hour and a half, you'll be sure to find a puddle.
As much as I feel like putting her in diapers, I'm not going to. What good would that do? But here is where I'm stumped- what should I do? I guess I could go on watching her like a hawk and just putting her on the potty like clockwork but should I have to? I know she can do it. She knows when she has to go. She knows how to hold it until she gets to the potty. She did it for a couple of months!
Ugh. The ups and downs of potty training. In my case, there are a whole lot more downs than ups.

So sorry! As my wise Mom says "this too shall pass," so rough when we are in the middle of it. I appreciate your honesty and sharing your journal!
Ah! Paige has been doing the exact same thing!! Sometimes I'll put her on the toilet and she won't do anything, and then two minutes later she'll pee on the floor! I don't get it. In the mean time I have to put diapers on her every time we go to church, or to a friends house so they don't get pee all over their carpets. Must just be a weird little stage they're going through.
As I was reading your post and then you mentioned, "what shpuld I do? I mean she knows how to go but isn't doing it.". I immediately thought of something, but I heard a different word from God, which is give her grace even if she is capable deep down. I know it's frustrating & we as moms don't want to enable our children, but I know the people who have had the most impact on me are the giving grace types. I do also understand the wanting to pull your hair out too though. I love reading your blog--keep em comin'.
Keep us posted! Jude has been telling me when he's going "doo-doo" lately (which is basically #1 and #2). Last week, I followed him around for TWO HOURS knowing he would go at any moment. Wouldn't you know, as soon as he was in his high chair he got that look on his face and pee was everywhere. Unbelievable. Before that, I let him run around naked in the yard all day and each time he peed I went to him to get him to the potty. But he would STOP PEEING every single time!!! Mid-pee! (Only us mama's can talk so much about this topic...) This is a sign to me he's ready. But am I ready? Not really. And from what I hear, that's the key. He's got his big boy Elmo undies though. This week, now that we're back from camping, we may give it another go. I'm encouraged by your previous post on the few days following Pear around. I just have to keep telling myself, "Be patient. Be patient. Be patient. He'll get it." Wish me luck! May the potty training begin!
